The Genealogy Show – Thanksgiving
Lorna worked as Project Genealogist for George Boole *200 genealogy project for University College Cork and is an excellent researcher for Irish family histories.
Lorna produces and presents the successful show: ‘The Genealogy Radio show’ aired each Thursday at 4p.m. from beautiful Kilkee, Co. Clare at Raidio Corcabaiscinn and Podcasts are available weekly.
Lorna has delivered conference papers at Oxford; Lincoln College: Exploration of the Medieval Gaelic Diet: (2012); seminar papers at the Moore Institute in NUI Galway, ‘The Gaelic Lordships in Thomond, c. 1400-c.1500’ and papers at Irish Conference of Medievalists on themes of Brian Boru and landscape of East Clare. Lorna has published on medieval themes and on maritime subjects. Her research areas are the MacNamaras and O’Briens of Thomond.
Lorna received her Certificate for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) in Dallas in March 2015.

Radio Corca Baiscinn is delighted to announce that it will be airing two special broadcasts by Scarriff Bay Community Radio which were recorded over the past week. Election Debates to which all candidates were invited were held on two days. Most of the candidates were able to attend. Some were unable to attend due to prior engagements or adverse weather. Pobal is excited to announce our participation once again, in Charity Trustees’ Week, taking place from 11 to 15 November 2024. This annual event, hosted in collaboration with the Charities Regulator, Boardmatch Ireland, Carmichael, The Wheel, Volunteer Ireland, Charities Institute Ireland, and Dóchas, aims to honour the vital contributions of trustees in the governance and leadership of charities across Ireland.
Charity Trustees’ Week serves several important purposes:
Highlighting the importance of good governance of boards, promoting the need for a thorough knowledge of trustees’ roles and responsibilities, education and upskilling of trustees;
Highlighting the need for new trustees to come forward and the means by which new trustees can be connected with charities that need trustees;
Creating a greater understanding and awareness among the public of the role of trustees, and the awareness that trustees are public members.
